Light Up the Tracks, presented by Dominion Energy, kicks off our a six-week holiday celebration with a FREE tree lighting, an Illuminated Costume Contest, prizes, and festive entertainment in downtown Ashland.

Schedule:

5 PM

  • Come dressed to impress and enter the Illuminated Costume Contest for your chance to win prizes from acclaimed Ashland Christmas Market makers. Enter at Downtown Ashland Association’s booth on Ashland Town Hall Lawn.

  • Shop the Light Up the Tracks Market full of local food, arts, and crafts vendors stretching from Ashland Town Hall, to the Hanover Arts and Activities Center, to Thrill of the Hunt.

  • Catch illuminating entertainment like Jonathan Austin’s 24-Hour Emergency Juggling and Magic services, glow in the dark face painting with Cara Mia Arts, and Ashland Feed Store’s petting zoo.

    6 PM

  • Gather at Ashland Town Hall Lawn to sing Walking in a Winter Wonderland with Randolph-Macon Concert Choir before lighting the town tree.

  • Ashland Dance Academy opens up the dance floor by performing seasonal favorites in glowing costumes on Ashland Town Hall Pavillion.

  • Center Street Sound Company keeps the party going until 8 PM on Ashland Town Hall Pavillion with holly jolly music.

    6:15 - 8 PM

  • You’re invited to stroll the light displays along the railroad tracks, listen to carolers, experience festive entertainment, enjoy dining, food trucks, and get a head start on holiday shopping with local stores and the Light Up the Tracks Celebration Market.

The Light Up the Tracks Celebration is free, family-friendly, accessible, and open to the public.
